Storm... And Storms..
Yesterday, I went to the GIGANTIC (sense the sarcasm) 11-screen 'Omniplex Cinema' complex to see X-Men 3 with some folks from the lab... decent movie.. and I only had to pay 5Eu -- now that's class! I feel really lucky that everything is within walking distance -- it certainly saves on bus and cab fare. The weather has still been holding up the past few days.. it has been, as I have said before.. gorgeous. And the sun doesn't completely set until about 11:15PM -- a total mindscrew... and I've heard the days just get longer during the summer.. I guess I forget how far north Ireland is located..
So, today, is the start of the 2006 Hurricane season.. which seems really far removed at the moment -- considering the weather here. Nonetheless.. I was kinda surprised when (during my random internet surfing while labbing) I found out that Ireland was hit by Hurricane Charley in 1996 -- not a tremendous amount of damage.. but definitely not something to which this area is accustomed.
Killarney this weekend during Ireland's June Bank Holiday.. excited about that..
Back to the lab. -J
