Across the pond... and back again.: Salthill and Sufjan

After labbing it all day yesterday.. I went home.. at some dinner.. did some laundry.. and hung my laundry out to dry... (alas, no dryer).

While it was still light out, I decided to walk down to Salthill -- a somewhat tacky waterfront area that offers incredible views of Galway Bay and the Aran islands..

The picture taken above was at nearly 10pm -- crazy isn't it? The weather was gorgeous.. definite class.. I just walked along the 'Prom' -- the promenade along Galway Bay -- with about half the population of Galway. Apparently, the 'in' thing to do in the twilight hours is walk along the Prom.. no bother, anyways -- I had my earbuds in and listened to Sufjan for the entirety.. it was glorious..

I feel sort of jipped today -- apparently everyone except for 5 of us in the lab took the day off -- to make it a 4 day weekend instead of 3. So, I'm twiddling my thumbs right now.. as all the others are taking a short holiday -- an extra day I could have easily had.. oh well. :) Off to Killarney tomorrow morning... until then..
